Forethought Mind and Mood Pulse Australia - March 2022

A nation reunited – Normality and Emotions converge across our largest states

The Forethought Mind and Mood Pulse for March 2022 shows similar results across our states - relative to the variation we have seen throughout the pandemic. Nationally, our sense of Normality is now similar to this time last year - and is significantly higher than was reported in our first Mind and Mood Pulse (36% in March 2020).

Across our states, an increase in Normality for WA in March has brought all of our reported states (VIC, NSW, SA, QLD and WA) closer together in their Normality scores than at any point so far in 2022, and for the majority of 2021. In this concluding edition of our Mind and Mood Pulse, we also find the current national emotional profile has converged closer to the benchmark recorded prior to the onset of COVID-19. All of our largest states are also now reporting very similar emotional profiles, relative to the variation we have seen throughout the pandemic.

Feelongspic

Forethought would like to extend our sincere thanks to all who contributed to, read and gained value from our Mind and Mood Pulse, a regular report monitoring the thoughts and feelings of Australians we commenced at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020. We have since surveyed 25,889 Australians and greatly appreciate their contribution to this important work over the last two years.

The Forethought Mind and Mood Pulse will now go into hiatus.
