Consultant/Senior Consultant

As a Marketing Research Consultant, you will develop actionable, strategic reccomendations, presentations and reports for our clients. At Forethought, we have a dedicated Marketing Science team specialising in analysis and data visualisation which will alllow you to focus on building relatonships with your clients. Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Demonstrating sound knowledge of client organisations and industries.
• Understanding of industry dynamics and happenings to identify research opportunities.
• Incorporating a strategic vision for accounts and demonstrating the ability to independently manage towards account management goals and targets.
• Applying quantitative and qualitative methodologies to client challenges and interpreting findings produced from these methodologies.
• Making robust, strategic recommendations taking into account clients business and research output.
• Proactively participating in brainstorming discussions for new research projects across the firm and suggesting appropriate techniques through leveraging experience.
• Demonstrating commitment to Forethought’s key strategic goals and values, and building the brand representation and business interests of Forethought.
• Performing effectively as a mentor in ways that enhance professional and personal growth. 

 

To be a successful Consultant, you should have an outstanding academic record, preferably with a double degree (Marketing Major), Honours or postgraduate qualifications (Masters, PhD) in Marketing, Finance, Psychology or an Arts/Commerce/Science related field, and be passionate about providing strategic marketing advice to clients based on research. You should have proven experience delivering quality solutions to clients and have a demonstrated track record of driving client relationships to develop further opportunities. Previous experience within a professional services environment is looked favourably upon.

Forethought Research Graduate Program 2013

The Forethought Research Graduate Program 2013 includes a formal 3 month rotation program which consists of formal graduate training and on-the-job training. You will also be assigned a mentor to help you navigate your first year in our firm where we will work with you on your individual career development plan.

Graduate Consultant

• Client liaison - attending client meetings, briefings and presentations
• Completing project tasks for clients within your industry portfolio team
• Converting client briefs into discussion guides for in-depth interviews
• Conducting industry-specific or methodology-specific research
• Summarising focus groups, interviews and quantitative data
• Interpreting analysis findings and preparing reports for clients based on actionable, strategic marketing reccomendations
• Identifying value-add recommendations using Forethought tools and methodologies

• Analysis of client data using statistical techniques such as logistic regression and multivariate analysis
• Providing high-quality, rigorous, accurate analytical services to internal consulting teams
• Interpreting analysis findings and relating them in a clear and concise manner
• Contributing to draft reports and presentations for clients
• Identifying value-add recommendations using Forethought tools and methodologies

Marketing Science Analyst

Forethought is unique in its continual investment in behavioural science and advanced analytics employing techniques and methodologies designed to meet client objectives. Recognising a 'gap' in Customer Value Analysis, Forethought’s Marketing Science Team in conjunction with leading academics and practitioners has developed Prophecy®, an algorithm that predicts changes in market share estimates as a result of changes in the performance scores of value drivers. Prophecy® is a unique and innovative methodology, capable of taking quantitative research data and quantifying expected changes in market share estimates, when specific drivers of value are modified.

Prophecy® Thoughts® reveals the relative importance of consumers’ rational drivers of purchase intent and explains and predicts changes in market share. Prophecy® Feelings® is a world first quantitative research methodology that enables Advertisers and Brand Owners to examine how their brand and communications perform on these consumption-related emotions and frame their activity to achieve greatest engagement on the emotions that drive consumption.

Due to growth, we are currently seeking a Marketing Science Analyst with postgraduate qualifications and highly developed quantitative - research skills to support our existing experts in the Marketing Science team. The role will encompass providing quality, rigorous, accurate analytical services of project data in a timely manner, and the ability to identify opportunities to further add value to all analytical services and identify solutions from research findings for the client.

Casual Undergraduate Positions

Forethought offers numerous on - going graphic design or publishing casual positions in our Infographics business unit for inquisitive, intelligent and high performing 1st year, or 2nd year Communications, Management and Marketing, Business, Economics, Sciences or Mathematics students.< p>

You will help prepare reports for clients by designing and preparing presentation material, and benefit from hands-on experience and industry exposure. You must must be available 2-3 days per week and occasional weekends.

You may be offered a permanent role at the completion of your studies in our Forethought Graduate Program 2013 or Forethought Graduate Program 2014.

Forethought has developed and implemented a 3-stage structured interview process. Preparation tips are provided below:

1st Round Interview

In the 1st round interview, you will be meeting with two members of the Talent team. The interview will involve motivation and behavioural fit questions, and will also incorporate the Talent team representitives overviewing the Forethought organisational structure.

In terms of preparation, make sure you refresh your knowledge of Forethought, and how a career at Forethought fits into your development plan. Beyond this, try to convey your passion for the power of research (i.e., why research is important, examples of research you've undertaken).


2nd Round Interview

In the 2nd round interview, you will be meeting with two members of the Director/Management team. The interview will involve motivation and behavioural fit questions.


3rd Round Interview

This stage of the recruitment process will consist of you meeting relevent members of the Consulting, Marketing Science, Operations & Infographics teams. The purpose of the day is to provide you with an opportunity to find out more about the Forethought business, and culture, and, for us to assess your fit further.

For Consultant candidates, you will also be required to complete a practical quantitative test, which assesses your ability to critically analyse both numerical/graphical models and qualitative data, and then to make commercially viable strategic recommendations.

For Analyst and Questionnaire Designer candidates, you will also be asked to complete a Questionnaire Design test.
